three weeks & quiet 14 Jul 06

Today was a fast day and the start of the three weeks. I’d provide links but I’m just not in the mood. The whole situation in Israrel … I don’t know what to say or how to say it, but in a sad way it’s helping me focus on these three weeks and tisha b’av..
thus refection, and silence. [it's also a busy summer for me, b'H .. I don't really have much time to do what I wanted learning-wise and here. if anyone has suggestions for balancing learning (even a solid 5 min), husband, works, and household I am open]
As far as learning, have you tried one of the sefarim set up with a 5 minute page or so to learn each day? I have seen the Chofetz Chaim divided up this way, weekly parsha, I think Rav Twersky has a bunch of sefarim set up like this, not sure if they are “learning” books or more self-help.
Maybe set yourself a Shabbos “space” to learn? With a friend? Somehow, i find the once a week, and I’m responsible to someone else (my learning partner) works better than trying to remember to open the Chofetz Chaim (oops!) – or even daven, some days.
Your not alone in this dilemma, that’s for sure. Good luck finding a happy balance.
